Living Spaces

A spacious light-filled studio space has been created at the top of this four storey Victorian terraced house.

Reduced head height at the rear of the attic meant this space was previously unusable. The floor level was dropped and a new glazed dormer raised just above the ridge line to give height and drama.

Sliding folding doors open up fully allowing the owners to enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding roofscape, Edinburgh Castle and Fife.

Oak flooring and shelving were used internally and a solid glass balustrade adds to the drama of the new dormer.
