Glenborrodale
Living Spaces
This renovation focused on updating and reorienting an existing 1970s bungalow to maximise its spectacular position above the shores of Loch Sunart.
The main entrance has been reconfigured to create a bright and generous cloakroom with discreet ancillary spaces seperating the main living area from the sleeping accommodation. A number of openings were extended and glazed doors added to offer long views though the property and out to the landscapes beyond. All bedrooms were updated with contemporary cabinetry and adapted to provide en-suite facilities, while the original kitchen units were re-painted and the room opened up to the main living space to create a light open-plan living area. Extensive full height glazing was then added to the south facing elevation of the property to create a living-dining room overlooking the loch, capturing solar gain and reducing energy consumption. These doors give access to the rebuilt, elevated deck with steps down to the water’s edge.
